About KLT

Since its inception in 1949, KLT has been supporting the legal fraternity with its authentic and authoritative reporting of rulings by the High Court of Kerala, other High Courts and the Supreme Court of India. Today it is the most cited journal in all courts in Kerala, as well as the most sought after reference material in legal circles, covering as it does all pertinent decisions relating to civil, criminal and tax matters, as well as new Ordinances, Acts, Rules or Amendments promulgated by the Parliament or the State Legislatures.

Over the years KLT has become an integral part of the legal community. Its reputation is built on painstaking labour, reliable and responsible reporting, discerning selection of material for publication, strict adherence to timelines come hell or high water, and attention to the minutest detail in proofing and printing. At KLT we believe there is no short cut to success.

KLT takes pride in the quality of the content that goes into print. For the editorial staff it is a labour of love. The effort is to provide members of the legal profession with information that is usable. Not every decision pronounced by the various High Courts or the Supreme Court finds its way into KLT, because that would be burdening the legal fraternity with unnecessarily voluminous verbiage. Decisions that merely follow a precedent do not find a place in the journal.

KLTOnLine is a proprietary online legal research platform published and maintained by KLT Infotech. The term “KLT Online” is a trade name owned by the KLT Infotech. The platform provides access to judgments, statutes, legal commentary, and facsimile pages of publications by Law Times and KLT Infotech.

On the other hand every decision that represents a new interpretation of law or one that is likely to set a precedent is described in elaborate, exhaustive, authentic detail. What this discerning type of reporting means to members of the legal community is immense savings in time and energy.

Jurisprudence relies extensively on the Law of Precedents, which is why thorough knowledge of prior decisions is vital in building a career in law. Moreover, law is continually evolving. Interpretation of law keeps changing over time. It is imperative that practitioners of law stay abreast of developments if they are to succeed in their profession. The need for subscribing to a reliable law journal can never be over emphasized. And when it comes to law journals, KLT is nonpareil.
